New Publications

The latest issue of Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft (ZPol) included an article by Thorsten Faas focusing on the possibility of compulsory voting.

Furthermore, Thorsten Faas and Daniela Hohmann wrote an article entitled “Facebook als Herausforderung für die Politik 2.0” (Facebook as challenge for politics 2.0) for the Forum Kommunalpolitik. The journal is also available for download (de).

New Publication on Stuttgart 21

Within the framework of an edited volume on the historic change of government in Baden-Württemberg, edited by Uwe Wagschal, Ulrich Eith and Michael Wehner, Johannes Blumenberg and Thorsten Faas analyzed long-term attitudes and emotions concerning the infrastructure project “Stuttgart 21”. The edited volume has recently been published and will soon be available at the University Library:

New Publication and MPSA

From April 11-14 Thorsten Faas and Johannes N. Blumenberg participated in this year’s Midwest Political Science Association’s (MPSA) annual conference in Chicago, where they delivered the following lectures:

  • Thorsten Faas: State Elections in Light of Fukushima and the Affective-Intelligence-Model: The German Case of Baden-Württemberg.
  • Thorsten Faas, Johannes N. Blumenberg: Capturing Campaign Dynamics 2.0: A Rolling Panel Study in the Run-Up to the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Election 2011.
  • Johannes N. Blumenberg: Of Hearts, Minds and Inner Conflicts: The Impact of Multiple Party Identifications on the Individual Vote Choice.


At the beginning of April, another article was published in the context of the study on the referendum on “Stuttgart 21”.
